I bought this book for my PreK classroom, and we love it. The wood-cut pictures are beautiful, and clear enough that my students can see them easily. The lines are broken down enough that I can read them the whole poem in one, smooth read-aloud or stop frequently to discuss the vocabulary/concepts. We love this version of the classic!

In preparing for Thanksgiving, add the purchase of this book to your list of things to do. This classic poem written by Lydia Maria Child capturesthe excitement and joy of families coming together on America's most American of holidays, Thanksgiving. Also, the pictures contained inthis publication add to the charm of this book!

This is a lovely book with more verses to "Over the River and Through the Wood" than most of us ever imagined. It has attractive illustrations that will appeal to the reading adult as well as the listening child. I can't quite give it the raves that the reviewer who got me to buy it did, but for those wanting a charming book for a child's holiday library, it's hard to find a better one for Thanksgiving.

I love this book and the illustrations! We read it several times, and my kids really enjoy it!

This is one of the first stories I read to my grandson as an infant and it became his favorite. It made him love snow and horses and of course Grandma! First time he encountered a horse he was fearless and we had to pull him off kicking and screaming. He was only 2 then. Now at 10, he mentioned to me he lost his favorite book. I am replacing it so he can have it to read to his children one day like I have read his mother's book to him.

I bought the book for my grandson who’s 5. He loves classical music and history so the illustrations were particularly enjoyed. Too little time is given to Thanksgiving so it really made the holiday come alive for him.

Book was in good condition and it is a very nice christmas book . This book needs to become available again in this version, great pictures.

Loved this story and song I learned in second grade and nice to see I can share with my grandchildren. I think my own children didn't believe such a story/song existed. Until Now! Great book. Great illustrations.
